Who is this woman artist?

This is Frida Kahlo and she is a famous artist from Mexico. When she was 18 years old she was hurt in a bus crash. She began to paint because she had to stay in bed to get better from her injuries and she was bored. When she got better, she met a famous Mexican artist named Diego Rivera. He thought she was very talented. They got married. She lived in the United States for three years but was homesick for Mexico. She had her first art show in Mexico in 1953 but died a year later.
I read a really good book for kids about her and her paintings. It is called Frida Kahlo: The Artist in the Blue House. Here are some of my favorite paintings.
1. My Dress Is Hanging There – 1933
This painting describes how she felt about living in New York. She was from Mexico. This painting shows how she saw America.
2. Self-Portrait on the Border Between Mexico and the United States – 1932.
This picture was telling people which place she thought was better for her. The Mexican side has ancient ruins, flowers and a sun. The U.S. side has pollution from car makers and things that use electricity.
I learned about this woman artist for my Girl Scout Troop. I had fun looking at her colorful paintings.
